Ninety Teams to Compete Across Four Cities in the U-15 and U-18 Girls' Soccer League
The Bakti Olahraga Djarum Foundation, in collaboration with HYDROPLUS, has launched a women's soccer league titled ‘HYDROPLUS Soccer League’. Targeting the U-15 and U-18 age categories, the competition will be held in phases starting in early October 2025 across four cities: Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, and Kudus. A total of 90 teams, ranging from soccer schools to clubs and academies, will participate and compete for the championship title.
HYDROPLUS Group Brand Head, Yose Moriza, stated that the HYDROPLUS Soccer League addresses the demand from women's soccer enthusiasts for a league-format competition designed to hone talents and produce young Indonesian female players capable of achieving world-class success in the future. This initiative aligns with the vision of HYDROPLUS as an isotonic drink brand that encourages the younger generation to remain dynamic in their daily activities.
“HYDROPLUS is honored to participate in the history of talent development and to drive the ecosystem of women's soccer in Indonesia. We hope the HYDROPLUS Soccer League becomes a driving force for the emergence of talented, resilient female players who will achieve success for Indonesia. Furthermore, through this competition, we want to encourage Indonesians to continue radiating a positive spirit in both their daily activities and sports,” said Yose.
Meanwhile, HYDROPLUS Soccer League Program Director, Teddy Tjahjono, explained that the organization of this U-15 and U-18 women's soccer league is part of a road map for developing the ecosystem and fostering female soccer athletes as designed by the Bakti Olahraga Djarum Foundation. The HYDROPLUS Soccer League serves as a continuation of the MilkLife Soccer Challenge, which targets age groups 8, 10, and 12, as well as the HYDROPLUS Piala Pertiwi for ages 14 and 16.
“The HYDROPLUS Soccer League completes the development pyramid for the women's soccer ecosystem, which began with grassroots participation through the MilkLife Soccer Challenge and youth tournaments in the HYDROPLUS Piala Pertiwi. We hope this league for the U-15 and U-18 age groups will provide a platform for female players to climb the ladder toward a professional career,” said Teddy.
To achieve this, the HYDROPLUS Soccer League adopts a home-and-away format, giving adolescent female players a regular match schedule to improve their technical skills and field proficiency. In each city, HYDROPLUS Soccer League matches will be held bi-weekly, allowing athletes the opportunity to evaluate their performance and prepare more thoroughly for subsequent games.
“As a result, they are not just playing for titles, but using this competition as a means to evaluate and develop their abilities, techniques, and game strategies. We hope that after competing in the HYDROPLUS Soccer League, they can transform into professional players recruited by top-tier clubs. We aim for this event to produce female players who can lead Indonesia to compete and triumph on the global stage,” Teddy elaborated.
The HYDROPLUS Soccer League will run in Jakarta from October 4, 2025, to May 31, 2026, involving 16 teams in the U-15 category and 10 teams in the U-18 category. This will be followed by Bandung from October 11, 2025, to June 7, 2026 (16 teams U-15 and 8 teams U-18). Simultaneously, the competition will be held in the City of Heroes, Surabaya (8 teams U-15 and 8 teams U-18). Furthermore, Kudus will host the competition from January 3, 2026, to May 23, 2026 (16 teams U-15 and 8 teams U-18). Winners and runners-up from each city will earn a spot to compete in the HYDROPLUS Soccer League All Stars 2025/2026 scheduled to be held in Kudus in July 2026.
For the U-15 category, each team consists of 9 players with a match duration of 2x25 minutes (10-minute break) played on half of a standard adult soccer field. Meanwhile, for the U-18 category, each team features 11 players competing for 2x35 minutes (10-minute break) on a full-sized adult soccer field.
The launch of this women's soccer league provides a promising breakthrough for young athletes pursuing professional careers. Among them is Albianca Raula, a MilkLife Soccer Challenge alumna who competed in the JSSL Singapore 7’s earlier this year. In the HYDROPLUS Soccer League, Bianca will represent the Cipta Cendikia team. "I am thrilled that a dedicated women’s soccer league has finally arrived, because I believe soccer is not just for men. I intend to train hard to perform well in this league and eventually earn a spot on the national team," said Bianca.
Echoing Bianca’s sentiment, Raga Negeri Football Academy Technical Director Yopi Riwoe noted that the HYDROPLUS Soccer League significantly bolsters the development of women's soccer in Indonesia. The league provides young athletes with a vital opportunity to learn, hone their skills, and engage in consistent, season-long competition. Beyond the athletes, the league serves as a platform for coaches to refine their training methods and strategic approach.
"The HYDROPLUS Soccer League elevates the women's soccer ecosystem by allowing athletes, coaches, and even referees to improve in their respective roles. I would like to thank the sponsors for realizing the dreams of those passionate about women's soccer through the inauguration of this league," Yopi added.
