The 2025 Seneng Minton Festival Series 1 Draws 345 Participants

The first series of the Seneng Minton Festival returned to the GOR Djarum in Jati, Kudus, Central Java. Since Monday morning (June 23), 345 students from 24 elementary and Islamic elementary schools across Kudus Regency have been competing in the event, which runs through Tuesday (June 24).

Organized through a partnership between the Kudus branch of the All Indonesia Badminton Association (PBSI) and the Bakti Olahraga Djarum Foundation, the festival has been met with significant enthusiasm from participants.

"The participants show great enthusiasm because these selected schools already have extracurricular badminton programs. We hold this festival as a benchmark to assess whether these programs are being implemented effectively and to observe the development of badminton in each school. We want to see how far their enthusiasm and quality have progressed since the two previous Seneng Minton Festival series," said Yuni Kartika, head of PBSI Kudus.

"As a result of these extracurricular programs and previous festivals, some third-grade students have already joined badminton clubs. This means that among those participating in the extracurricular activities, some are training seriously to pursue the sport, which is our ultimate goal," Yuni added.

Similar to previous series, the competition is divided into three categories: Grade 1, Grade 2, and Grade 3. Each team consists of five participants with a composition of three boys and two girls. Participants must complete seven challenges: Service to Target, Shuttle Run, Pyramid Shuttlecock, Throwing the Shuttlecock, Zig Zag Run, Run, and Drive Target.

Winners in each category will receive a trophy for their school and individual trophies, cash prizes (1st place: Rp1,000,000; 2nd place: Rp750,000; 3rd place: Rp500,000), badminton equipment from Hundred, goodie bags from Milk Life, Kenko, and Dua Kelinci, as well as five boxes of Aice ice cream.
