KONI Central Chairman Marciano Norman officially closed the 2025 Martial Arts National Sports Week (PON) at Djarum Arena, GOR Kaliputu, Kudus, Central Java, on Sunday (Oct. 26, 2025).
In his closing remarks, Marciano expressed gratitude for the successful conclusion of the event, which began on Oct. 11.
"Thank God, we have concluded the 2025 Martial Arts PON successfully. I extend my highest appreciation and gratitude to the Djarum Foundation for their extraordinary partnership, and to all regional KONI offices for their support," said Marciano.
He also praised the warm welcome from the people of Kudus who enlivened the event. "The enthusiasm of the people of Kudus was extraordinary, especially during the opening ceremony, when the Regent and his staff walked with the athletes to the town square. Their reception was lively and spirited. Let us consider this PON a golden milestone for our sports achievements," he continued.
Marciano emphasized that the fighting spirit displayed by the athletes in Kudus reflects great promise for the future of Indonesian sports.
"The athletes arrived carrying the honor of their regions, and their spirit reflects the future of our nation's athletes. I hope that those who became champions at this Martial Arts PON will also excel at the SEA Games, Asian Games, and world championships. Let us continue to provide the focus and support needed for them to reach the highest levels of achievement," he said.
Concluding his speech, Marciano expressed his hope that Kudus would not only be remembered as an excellent host but also as a region that produces great athletes in the future.
"See you at the next Martial Arts PON in North Sulawesi in early 2026, and back in Kudus in 2027," he said, to a round of applause.
To close the event, a ceremony was held to return the KONI flag from the Regent of Kudus to KONI Central Chairman Marciano Norman, marking the official end of the 2025 Martial Arts PON and the commencement of preparations for the next edition. (Daniel Tanamal)
