The moment occurred following a U-18 group stage match between Akademi Persib Regional Bandung and Arema FC Women Regional Surabaya at the Supersoccer Arena (SSA) in Kudus on Monday (July 6, 2026). After a tense 70-minute duel, players from both teams opted to remain in the stands to watch the Samba Persada U-18 match against Putri Tangsel City U-18.

This modest scene highlights a different side of youth football development. Competition is more than just a quest for victory; it acts as a platform for character building, sportsmanship, and the formation of networks among players from diverse regions.

For U-18 Akademi Persib player Muthia Keasha, many of the faces encountered in Kudus were already familiar, as relationships had previously been cultivated on social media.

“We initially became friends on social media and followed each other on Instagram. While we competed as rivals today, we remained professional. Off the pitch, we stay friends,” Muthia said.

According to the Priangan-born athlete, the match did not diminish the mutual respect held between players. Instead, meeting in person has served to strengthen their rapport, anchored by a shared passion for women's football.

She also noted her appreciation for the opposition's performance, adding that each match provides a learning opportunity to observe the quality of play from other teams.

“Their ball possession was good, and their communication was effective,” she added.

Despite only meeting in person for the first time after long-standing social media connections, Muthia expressed hope that these relationships will endure.

"If we meet again in the next match, we will remain professional, but our friendship will continue," she said.

A similar sentiment was shared by Arema FC Women U-18 player Dian Anisa. For her, even though the match was intense, it did not diminish the mutual respect once the final whistle blew.

"The game was exciting and physical on the field. But when it was over, we immediately hung out together. Outside of the match, we are still friends," she said with a smile.

The spirit of camaraderie was also felt by Kudus Regional Samba Persada U-18 goalkeeper Fairus Putri. The tournament in Kudus provided her not only with the chance to compete but also with new experiences beyond the pitch.

During her time in the city, she had the opportunity to visit several local landmarks, including the Kudus Tower, PB Djarum, and the Djarum Foundation's Environmental Nursery Center (PPT).

"My first impression of Kudus is extraordinary. There are many places to visit, and it has been a new experience. What excites me most is being able to meet many friends from different cities," she said.

Between matches, Fairus built close relationships with players from South Tangerang, Arema, Bandung, and the Tigers Football Academy. One of her closest friends is Savaira Rizqin from Putri Tangsel City U-18.

"At first, I thought they might be tough. It turns out that once I got to know them, everyone is kind and fun. Outside of the match, we often hang out, talk, and share stories. But once we step onto the field, we remain professional. After the match, we resume respecting one another," she added.

For Fairus, the most valuable experience she will take home is not just the match results.

"What I have gained most is camaraderie, mutual respect, and friendship. When the tournament ends, I will definitely miss my teammates as well as the friends from other teams," she said.

This connection is shared by Savaira Rizqin, who said she has known Fairus since attending a national team training camp in Malang last year. Their reunion in Kudus helped them grow even closer.

"For me, Fairus is not just a friend, but also like an older sister and mentor. When I am nervous, she always encourages me to be more confident," she said.

Savaira noted that she learned from Fairus not to give up easily and to keep fighting.

According to her, the HYDROPLUS Soccer League All Stars 2025/2026 offers an experience that is far more valuable than match outcomes alone.

"Beyond the victories, what I have gained here are new friends, connections, and a sense of community. That is what I will remember after the tournament concludes," she said.

These values are also a priority for the coaching staff. Samba Persada U-18 Assistant Coach Dera Saviola Febriana stated that character development goes hand in hand with athletic achievement.

Since beginning their training camp and arriving in Kudus, the players have been steadily drilled in discipline, responsibility, and mutual respect.

"Initially, the players were reserved, but after several days in Kudus, they have begun to open up and interact easily with peers from other regions," she explained.

This transformation is evident not only during match play but in their daily routines as well.

"What makes me proudest is not just their level of play, but their sense of empathy. When a teammate is unwell, the entire squad rallies to offer support. It is a sign that their character is beginning to take shape," she said.

A similar sentiment was expressed by Samba Persada U-18 Liaison Officer Nida Afifatur Rahma, who noted that athlete interaction has been warm since the tournament's first day.

She credited the comprehensive facilities, organized transportation, and the quality of the Supersoccer Arena in Kudus for ensuring the athletes' comfort.

"The players from various cities have quickly connected. Kudus has proven to be an inviting host due to its complete facilities, world-class pitch, and clean environment, all of which support their development," she stated.

Ultimately, every team competes with the goal of victory. However, the HYDROPLUS Soccer League All Stars 2025/2026 offers significance beyond the final scoreline.
