The MilkLife Soccer Challenge (MLSC) All Stars 2026 final held on Sunday (6/28/2026) saw All Stars Kudus and All Stars Jakarta compete for the trophy. However, the match represented much more than a championship title. Behind every pass, tackle, and scoring opportunity lay a long journey for these young athletes, who learned how to manage pressure, overcome fear, and embrace the values of hard work and sportsmanship from an early age.

Reaching the final was no easy feat. Twelve of the best teams from various regions navigated a rigorous preliminary phase. After testing their skills against opponents with diverse playing styles, only Kudus and Jakarta remained to compete for the title.

"The challenge is to remain patient and convey instructions as simply as possible. We must also set a disciplined example so the children become accustomed to following directions on the field," said Yayat.

Patience is a crucial element of the process. Given the young age of the players, feelings of nerves, fear, or even a desire to give up often surface during high-stakes matches. In such situations, Yayat chooses to address the emotional needs of his players rather than adding pressure.

"I just offer a bit of perspective: do you want to be crying after the match out of regret, or celebrating? It encourages them to fight not to lose in every match," he added.

For Yayat, victory is not achieved through technical skill alone; mental strength must also be built gradually. Consequently, ahead of the final, he reminded his players not to perceive the match as an overwhelming burden.

“We emphasize that the children must play and enjoy the game, play with happiness, and further increase their spirit and hard work. Finally, as I have told players before, we advise them to maintain their physical condition and diet to ensure they can play at their peak,” he emphasized.

That simple message has served as a constant guide for the players as they take the field.

One such player is Kudus All Stars captain Rere Zenita Farza. For him, reaching the final was not the result of one or two individuals, but a collective effort as the team navigated past equally formidable opponents.

“I am proud that my friends were able to overcome all these strong teams. Everyone played well,” he said.

The admirer of Neymar noted that he consistently keeps the coach's recurring message in mind throughout the tournament. This motivation serves as a reminder that every victory must be earned, not waited upon.

“The message from the coach, which is emphasized, is that if you want to win, you must work for it. The coach constantly motivates us, saying you have to make an effort if you want to bring the trophy home to Kudus,” Rere said.

Playing in front of a packed crowd is also an unusual experience for him. While acknowledging the gravity of the match, Rere strive to stay confident to avoid being overwhelmed by the pressure.

“Playing in front of this many people is a big game for me, so I have to play with confidence. My hope is to win the title again for Kudus. Keep the spirit up, do not give up. We must be strong and get through this final challenge,” he said.

Meanwhile, in the Jakarta All Stars locker room, the challenges were similar. Coach Arifin witnessed firsthand how nervousness and self-doubt affected his players ahead of the final. He understands that a match of this magnitude can be a heavy burden for young players.

“My mental challenge with these young players in facing the pressure of a final match is significant, as they experience nervousness, fear, and insecurity. So, I built them up and reassured them,” Arifin said.

"I encourage them to enjoy the match. I assure them to always remain optimistic," he added.

Moments before the players walked through the tunnel toward the pitch, Arifin reminded them of one thing he considers far more important than the final score.

"Stay calm during the match, take responsibility for your respective positions, and whatever the result, accept it gracefully. The most important thing is to have fun while playing," said Arifin.

This message was also taken to heart by Jakarta All Stars captain Andien Haifa Syakira. For her, reaching the final is already a significant milestone, but the team's journey does not end there.

"This tournament has been invaluable and crucial for the Jakarta team to reach the final. We are ready to battle again and, God willing, we will be victorious," Andien stated.

She also reminded her teammates to remain focused on the coach's instructions and ignore outside distractions.

Asenih, the grandmother of Jakarta All Stars player Albianca Raula, traveled from Jakarta to offer her support. She viewed the final as a long-awaited moment for their family.

"This is the match we have been waiting for. Last year wasn't our time, but God willing, we can achieve national victory. We came from Jakarta to support them in securing the win. Show your spirit and give your best. God willing, we will put in 100 percent effort and prayer," she said.
