KUDUS – The Srikandi Fair has become a key source of public entertainment during the Caffino Srikandi Merdeka Cup 2026, held from August 14–23 at the Supersoccer Arena in Kudus. Amidst a high-stakes competition featuring eight teams from seven countries, the fair provides a lively atmosphere complete with entertainment, culinary offerings, and a bazaar showcasing local Kudus businesses.
At the Rendeng field, the main performance stage has become a popular gathering spot. Every day, the stage hosts a variety of performances, ranging from music to dance, including a showcase by GLIXCH, a dance group from Kanisius High School in Kudus.
The seven members of GLIXCH—Caecilia Keiko, Gabriella Sonya, Cecilia Putri, Shaneisha Eudora, Dominic Aurelia, Keisha Laura, and Felicia Puteri—delivered an energetic performance before hundreds of attendees. They performed modern choreography set to popular dangdut-pop tracks familiar to the local audience.
This musical choice was intentional. GLIXCH coach Vikri Islah Khafidz explained that the performance was designed for broad appeal, blending hit songs with modern choreography to create a show that resonates with the crowd.
"Once the music starts, the audience immediately connects and enthusiastically follows the rhythm and GLIXCH's moves," said Vikri during the fair on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
According to Vikri, the group adopts an "All Star" concept, where each member is encouraged to highlight their individual character and strengths to stand out on stage.
The Srikandi Fair has provided a valuable platform for Vikri to showcase his proteges to a diverse audience. While GLIXCH has performed on various stages over the past year, performing in the context of an international women's football tournament offers a unique experience.
After watching matches at the Supersoccer Arena, visitors are invited to continue their experience at the Srikandi Fair. The transition from the tension of the match to the energy of the music and dance performances helps keep the festival spirit alive well into the night.
"We are expressing ourselves. We want everyone who comes here (to the Srikandi Fair) to leave feeling happy," Vikri said.
For GLIXCH, the Srikandi Fair stage served as more than just a venue; it provided a platform for Kudus youth to showcase their creativity and engage with the local community through the performing arts.
