Kudus – At the Supersoccer Arena in Kudus, the competitive spirit is not limited to the soccer pitch. As the HYDROPLUS Soccer League All Stars 2025/2026 reached its group stage on Wednesday (July 8), the venue echoed with music, dance, and cheers emanating from a student-led creativity stage.
The girls' U-15 and U-18 soccer tournament, featuring 16 teams from various regions, provided a unique backdrop. Concurrent with the matches, a Band and Modern Dance competition held from July 7–11, 2026, offered students a platform to showcase their artistic talents. The synergy between the soccer field and the performance stage created a multi-faceted experience for athletes, performers, and spectators alike.
Beyond the referee's whistle and coaching instructions, the grounds of the Supersoccer Arena transformed into a vibrant cultural hub. Student bands rotated on stage, followed by energetic modern dance performances, with spectators moving between the stands and the performance area to enjoy both events.
This fusion of sports and arts allowed those attending the soccer tournament to also experience the young musicians and performers. Conversely, participants of the art festival were immersed in the high-spirited atmosphere of the tournament.
Among those enjoying the experience was Grisalda Jeth Jan’ma Gayatri, vocalist for the band J Calo Nada from SMAN 1 Kudus. For her, performing on that stage was a debut experience that left a lasting impression.
Accompanied by her group, Grisalda performed Kotak's song Tendangan dari Langit and the traditional folk song Yamko Rambe Yamko. Following an extensive rehearsal period, she expressed satisfaction that the performance went as planned.
For Grisalda, the opportunity to perform is about more than just chasing trophies or individual awards. She views the stage as a vital learning environment that connects students with a diverse range of skills.
“The school band extracurricular is no longer just a complement for academic grades, but a genuine platform for learning and improving through observing our peers,” she said.
She also commended the organizers for creating a platform for female athletes while providing young musicians an opportunity to showcase their talents to the public.
A similar sentiment was shared by Samuela Janice Korlyanne of the Dazzling Dance Crew from SMP Masehi Kudus. Despite some initial nervousness about performing before a large crowd, she and her team remained committed to delivering their best performance.
For this dance troupe, participating for the second time in the event as part of the HYDROPLUS Soccer League All Stars 2025/2026 served as a chance to continuously hone their skills and build confidence. "Honestly, I am happy because this event helps us develop our talents. It’s not just about performing, but also refining our abilities to reach a higher level," Janice said.
She expressed hope that such activities would continue, as they provide students with a space to showcase and cultivate their potential.
The excitement at the Supersoccer Arena Kudus was also felt by visitors, including Reyhana Najwa Mutia Rabbani, who enjoyed the atmosphere at the venue.
According to Reyhana, the open layout of the Supersoccer Arena Kudus allowed the public to watch matches and enjoy various artistic performances simultaneously, making for a well-rounded experience. "It’s really fun because we can also see the inside of the Supersoccer facility. It’s interesting to learn which schools are participating, and their performances have been truly exciting," she said.
She also commended the emcee, who she felt effectively maintained the crowd's enthusiasm throughout the event. Reyhana hopes that music and dance festivals will remain a fixture of future sporting tournaments.
A similar view was shared by Bagas Arga Santosa, a member of the music festival jury. He noted that the competition provides a meaningful platform for fostering student interest and talent, particularly in Kudus and the surrounding areas.
Bagas observed that holding music and dance festivals alongside soccer tournaments creates opportunities for young talent to gain exposure.
“I fully support this, as the soccer competition allows us to discover emerging talents who can be further developed into skilled performers,” Bagas explained.
He added that the high level of enthusiasm among participants from various regions, including Semarang and Pati, shows that such events can bring students from diverse backgrounds together. He noted that the continuity of such events is vital for the ongoing development of young athletes and artists.
