Kudus – The final whistle blew at the Supersoccer Arena in Kudus on Friday (July 10, 2026). Players from Scorpion FC U-15 (Kudus) appeared visibly dejected, with some lowering their heads while others patted shoulders or attempted to console their teammates. A heavy silence settled over the pitch after the scoreboard signaled a 0-2 victory for Cipta Cendikia FA (Bogor).

Their hopes of reaching the semifinals of the HYDROPLUS Soccer League All Stars 2025/2026 ended in the U-15 Group B phase. However, for these young female players, that afternoon was about more than just a defeat. It served as a moment to learn to process disappointment, manage emotions, and understand that an athletic career does not always follow the desired path.

In youth soccer, while victories bring joy, defeats often offer the most enduring lessons. It is on the field that these players learn that their development continues even after their tournament run ends; in fact, the end of a match creates renewed space for growth.

Nevertheless, Putri refuses to let disappointment mark the end of her journey. Instead, she views the match as a significant milestone that led her from regional competition in Kudus to the national stage.

Throughout the tournament, she maintained her self-confidence thanks to the support of her coach, teammates, and captain. This backing keeps her convinced that today's result does not define her future.

"It is certainly disappointing, but I hope to perform better next year. This loss is a lesson on addressing mistakes, improving my game, and maintaining composure during matches," Putri Lian Maulida said after the game.

That simple statement captures the perspective of this young athlete toward defeat. It is not something to lament, but rather a catalyst for evaluation. Putri recognizes that there remains much room for improvement, from increasing intensity to staying focused under pressure.

On the sidelines, Scorpion FC U-15 (Kudus) head coach Roni Listiono views the match through a broader lens. For him, a coach's job does not conclude with the final whistle; it is when the match ends that a coach's role becomes vital in safeguarding the players' mental well-being.

Immediately following the team's elimination, Roni gathered his players. There was no anger and no lingering regret. Instead, his focus was on motivation, encouraging the players to embrace the loss as part of their learning process.

"I am motivating the children to keep their spirits high. We treat this loss as a learning opportunity for future growth. There are still many areas where we fell short, and we must acknowledge that the opponent played better," Roni said.

For Roni, youth football development holds a higher purpose than merely chasing trophies. He believes that a player’s success is built through consistent training, match experience, and the resilience to bounce back from unfavorable outcomes.

That philosophy remains central to the cultivation of the Scorpion FC U-15 (Kudus) players.

“In athlete development, we cannot prioritize winning above all else. Success is the byproduct of the training process itself; any title is simply a bonus. We instill in them the mindset not to feel defeated before the match begins. What matters is that they take valuable lessons from today’s loss to improve moving forward,” he added.

This perspective highlights that youth athletic development focuses on more than just match results. It focuses on character building, discipline, teamwork, and the resilience to persevere after a setback.

The HYDROPLUS Soccer League All Stars 2025/2026 provides a platform for young players to experience a competitive atmosphere and test the skills they have honed during training. While not every team advanced to the final rounds, every participant gained unique experience.

For Scorpion FC U-15 (Kudus), the journey in this tournament ended prematurely. However, the experience of managing match pressure, accepting defeat with sportsmanship, and evaluating personal performance provides essential preparation for their continued development.

Behind the 0-2 loss to Cipta Cendikia FA (Bogor) lies the story of young athletes refusing to give up on their goals. Though they departed without a semifinal spot, they gained something not found on the scoreboard: experience, maturity, and the conviction that every obstacle is simply part of the journey toward becoming better players.
