Rahtawu Valley Homestay Established During the Pandemic
KUDUS – The growth of lodging facilities in Rahtawu has a unique origin story. Lembah Rahtawu Homestay was established in 2020 by Sukari, a resident of Gondosari Village, Gebog District, during the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic as it disrupted various sectors of the economy.
Prior to venturing into hospitality, Sukari operated a furniture business and worked as a contractor. The pandemic severely impacted construction activities, and it was during this period that he observed many workers from various regions being laid off.

Driven by this, he pursued the idea of building a homestay in Rahtawu. His background as a furniture maker heavily influenced the design of the property.
Wood waste from his workshop was repurposed for walls and interior decor. The structures feature an industrial-ethnic aesthetic and forgo air conditioning, utilizing the natural mountain air to ensure guest comfort.
Lembah Rahtawu Homestay offers five single-bed rooms, five double-bed rooms, and a gazebo. Additional facilities include a restaurant overlooking the river, free Wi-Fi, a prayer room, and dedicated parking for motorcycles and cars.
